Dr. Emily Heisey

PT, DPT
Emily Heisey, DPT, is the owner and founder of Kinactive Kids. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UT Southwestern Medical Center and has been treating children in a variety of pediatric settings for more than 16 years.
A born and raised Texan, Emily’s passion for movement began early through her background in dance. As a member of the SMU Pom Squad, she developed a deep appreciation for how the body works—an understanding that now informs her unique orthopedic lens in pediatric therapy. This perspective allows her to analyze movement patterns and simplify impairments in a way that leads to meaningful, lasting results for her patients.
In 2020, Emily founded Kinactive Kids with a mission to create a supportive and innovative space where children could thrive outside of traditional insurance barriers. Her personal challenges have fueled a passion for advocating for the underdog and proving that limitations can be overcome with the right care, creativity, and determination.
Emily is married to a fellow physical therapist and lives just a mile away from the office! She has two daughters, Hannah and Heidi who are frequent visitors at the office, often by Mommy’s side helping out with “treatments.”

Dr. Matt Otteman

DC
Dr. Matt Otteman is originally from Chicago, but moved down to Texas to attend the University of Texas at Arlington, where he played baseball all four years. After his senior year, he signed with the Seattle Mariners as a pitcher and went on to win the Arizona League Championship.
Once baseball was over, Dr. Otteman decided to finish school with an Exercise Science degree, interning with the Texas Rangers PT staff his last year of school. After graduating, he became a Sports Performance Specialist with EXOS in California and worked with several professional athletes, including members of the MLB, NFL, Collegiate Football, PGA, and MLS. He then moved to New York City and continued to train athletes of all different levels.
Since moving back to Dallas, Dr. Otteman completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University, graduating Cum Laude. Matt, his wife Emily, and their three kids, Maeve, Eliza, and Madden live in Flower Mound and attend Cross Timbers Church. They enjoy golfing and spending time outdoors on the weekends.

Jamie Pharr

PT
Jamie Pharr, PT is a UTMB-Galveston graduate with 12 years of experience in pediatric physical therapy, 10 of which have been spent working with kiddos 0-3 years old. Jamie is particularly passionate about helping babies 4-18 months old, which is arguably the most critical window for building a strong foundation for mobility, independence and gross motor development.
She was initially drawn to pediatric PT because of the creativity it requires. Every kid can present issues differently, and Jamie loves the challenge of having to come up with new treatment plans to address every patient’s unique needs, both in-office and through her at-home recommendations.
Outside of the KinActive office, Jamie is an early bird who loves being at the beach or lake with her four boys and husband, Chris. She’s a boy mom through and through – an avid sports lover who enjoys being both a player and spectator (basketball, baseball, football, soccer and tennis are her favorites).

Jennine Earnhardt

DC | Webster Certified | Dry Needling Certified
Dr. Jennine helps women take control of their physical health and get out of pain. She believes that discomfort caused by injuries, changing body ergonomics during pregnancy, or the physical demands of caring for a family should not prevent you from living an active lifestyle at any age. With 13 years of clinical experience, she has helped hundreds of women strengthen and heal their bodies with individualized chiropractic care.
Jennine moved to Texas from the Chicago Suburbs in 2023 with her husband, Steve, and two sons, Bennett (7) and Hudson (5). Her weekends are mostly full of kids’ sports; if she finds free time, she enjoys gardening, reading fiction, and binge-watching romantic comedies. She often reminisces about her past as a dancer, but channels her love of kinesthetics and body movement into her career.

Dana Harrison

PT, MPT, CPRCS
Dana is a University of Texas Medical Branch graduate with 27 years of pediatric physical therapy experience.
Her extensive experience has included opportunities to work in a variety of pediatric environments, including the NICU, in-patient, out-patient, and physician specialty clinics, which she’s no stranger to. Her time spent in specialty clinics allowed her to hone in on various patient concerns and diagnoses in the pediatric population, some of which include movement disorders, Spina Bifida, pain management, pediatric sports medicine and orthopedic PT.
In her previous roles, Dana has not only treated patients with neuro-developmental delays, genetic disorders, orthopedic injuries or acquired deformities, wounds/burns, chronic pain, and concussion/vestibular disorders, but has also developed physical therapy treatment protocols/guidelines for these areas. These guidelines were collaboratively created with other clinicians, and distributed amongst fellow healthcare professionals. Dana has also been a clinical instructor, training new, pediatric physical therapists and students, as well as serving in related leadership roles.
With everything that Dana has done professionally, she considers it an absolute honor and joy to work directly with her patients and their parents. She loves patient care! She enjoys walking beside her families to go from some of their hardest days to cheering for their successes.
Outside of work, Dana enjoys being active with her family and friends. She loves to volunteer and is currently the president of the Fine Arts Board at her daughter’s school as well as a Vestry Board member at her church. Her current hobby is keeping up with all of the activities of her family.

Emily Dalton

PT, DPT
Emily Dalton, DPT, is a Texas Tech Health Sciences Center graduate with 9 years of experience in pediatric and orthopedic physical therapy. She has had the opportunity to work and gain knowledge in a variety of settings including home health, outpatient, inpatient, and aquatic PT. Emily has worked with a variety of ages and loves them all, but especially loves working with little ones 0-2 years old as it is such an honor to be a part of their early journey.
Emily also gained first hand experience with needing to help her own daughter's development after birth which sparked more interest in this young population. Emily is a proud TCU alumna and happy to still call the Fort Worth area home. She became interested in the PT profession after getting hurt as an athlete in high school and she started shadowing her own physical therapist. However, she started to gain more interest in pediatrics as she wanted to be able to think more creatively.
Emily loves the challenge of meeting each child and their family where they are and building their independence and confidence. Outside of the office, Emily loves to spend time with her family and friends. She and her husband, Avery, have a little daughter and two crazy dogs. They are avid football fans (especially TCU!) and are regulars at all the games. She also loves staying active and plays on a competitive tennis league in Fort Worth.

Beverly Begnal

Patient Care Coordinator
Beverly joined KinActive in 2023 and brings over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. She understands just how important early intervention is and loves supporting families through every step of their KinActive journey. With a calm, caring approach, Beverly adds thoughtful, personal touches to each Kamper’s experience and helps families feel comfortable, confident, and supported from scheduling to the very last day of Kamp.
When she’s not at KinActive, Beverly enjoys spending time with her husband, Jesse, her two beautiful daughters, Allison and Erin, and her silver lab, Annie. She also loves live music, Texas A&M football, and getting lost in a good book.
